Students are prepared for the National Certificate of Education at all levels and also for Scholarship. King’s High School offers a wide range of subjects. The progress and success of students is regularly monitored.
Dunedin is a city where education is valued. It is home to the prestigious University of Otago and has a large Polytech. King’s High School has close links with both of these institutions and clear pathways are indicated for international students who may wish to go on to tertiary study. The boys also have ready access to course counselling and career advice.
Students are also accepted for short term courses.
The English ability of international students is assessed on arrival and appropriate tuition is provided in small classes. All students in these classes work on an Individual Learning Programme. Only when they are ready, are they moved to a general English class.
