Snow Boarding teams consist of 4 members who compete in two disciplines; Boarder Cross and Half-Pipe. The Half-Pipe consists of two runs through the course with the best combined scores progressing to the Finals. Boarder Cross involves an individual time trial in the morning followed by seeded groups of 4 competing together through semi-finals and finals.
King's High School has been an active participant in the Otago/Southland Schools Competition (held traditionally at Cardrona) and the South Island Championships. Regional competitions are usually held in August.
With many similarities between snowboarding, skating and surfing, King's is very competitive in this discipline.
