Skiing

Teams consist of 4 members who compete in two disciplines; Giant Slalom and Ski Cross. Giant Slalom consists of two timed runs through the course with the best combined times progressing to the Finals. Ski Cross involves an individual time trial in the morning followed by seeded groups of 4 competing together through semi-finals and finals.

Competitions

King's High School has been an active participant in the Otago/Southland Schools' Competition (held traditionally at Cardrona) and the South Island Championships. Regional competitions are usually held in August.

History

Historically, we have struggled to compete on a national level.  However, we have some talented individuals and usually box above our weight. Historically the school offers students several opportunities during the year to attend ski weekends. These trips are enjoyable and well attended.
