"King's students have excelled in the world beyond school in all areas"

Many of these successful Old Boys' contribute a significant part of their success to the school.
Sporting
"What I remember most of this amazing school is the relationships I developed not only with other students but with staff.
In class, on the stage or on the sports-field - it didn't matter; I never felt alone; I was always encouraged to do the absolute best that I could.
That is what the school gave to me and I will be forever grateful for that."
Seven old boys' have represented New Zealand in Cricket including current Black-Cap vice-captain, Brendon McCullum.
Brendon McCullum, New Zealand Black Caps.
Cultural and Arts
"I have played Valjean from Les Miserables for many years on the West End of London; I have performed to thousands and I now run my own production company across Australia and NZ. King's gave me everything and I made the most of every opportunity I was given. Whether it was singing or playing in the 1st XI hockey and cricket teams.
I have never forgotten where it all began and all the support I received from the teachers during my 5 years at King's.
King's is a part of me and I'm proud of it."
Chris Fennessy, a well known Australiasian singer and actor.
Education and Business
"King's High School somehow takes boys from every level and encourages them in their pursuit of being successful with their lives - be it technical, academic, cultural or sporting.
From the pupils while I was there, I can think of New Zealand Ambassadors, members of parliament, doctors, dentists, CEO's of companies, professional musicians and sportsmen - achievement across all levels from a school that caters for all.
I am grateful for the school culture which has enabled me to become a dentist as well as still playing hockey for New Zealand at age 60 - encouraging indeed!"
Peter Ashton, one of many successful professionals to have attended King's.
